ClintonGown pr2017 Miss Clinton County Fair Queen Sara Loepker    Clinton County Fair Queen Sara Loepker will travel to Springfield on Thursday, Jan. 18 to begin orientation and rehearsals for the 2018 Miss Illinois County Fair Pageant competition. 
    She will be one of 72 queens representing county fairs across the state of Illinois competing for the title. 
    The preliminary competition will consist of interview and speech skills, evening gown and swimwear competitions. The reigning Illinois County Fair Queen Claudia VanOpdorp will crown the new queen at the culmination of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention on Sunday evening, Jan. 21.
    Sara is the daughter of Mark and Laura Loepker of Beckemeyer. She was crowned in July 2017. Since that time she has represented Clinton County at county fairs around the state, at the Illinois State Fair and the DuQuoin State Fair. She has also attended numerous festivals, celebrations and parades throughout Clinton County.
    Friends and family are invited to a send-off reception at Traditions Portrait Design in Carlyle on Sunday, Jan. 14 between 1 and 3 p.m. to wish Queen Sara the best of luck at the state pageant.
