Second place - London Kampwerth took second place in the 14,000-pound class during the county tractor pull on Wednesday, July 15 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.    Carlyle's Kyle Kluemke defended his 7,500-pound class championship at the Kevin's Clevis Classic on Wednesday, July 15, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Kevin's Clevis Classic is a tractor pull run in memory of Kevin Kampwerth, a longtime member and past president of the Clinton County Fair Board and a puller at the Clinton County Farmers Pull for more than 45 years. It is the second year the classic has been held.
Kurt Voss from Bartelso won the 14,000-pound class.
Whitney Kampwerth Luebbers, Kevin's daughter, spoke about the importance of the event.
"Today isn't just about remembering him, it's about celebrating the life he lived, the traditions he cherished, and the friendships he built over the years," Luebbers said. "He loved this fair and a good tractor pull, but more than anything, he loved the people and the sense of community they brought together."
Luebbers said seeing everyone in the stands is a reminder that all of those things continue, and that's a legacy the family is grateful for.
"On behalf of my mom, LuAlice, and my husband, John, thank you to the Clinton County Fair Board and all of the volunteers who make this event possible," Luebbers said.
